ANALISIS DESKRIPTIF PERSEPSI FoMO DAN KONSTRUK UTAUT2 DALAM PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL PADA MAHASISWA

Abstract

Media sosial telah menjadi bagian integral dari aktivitas digital mahasiswa, digunakan untuk memperoleh informasi, hiburan, dan berinteraksi secara sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan persepsi mahasiswa terhadap Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), empat konstruk UTAUT2 (social influence, hedonic motivation, habit, dan facilitating conditions), serta intensitas penggunaan media sosial, sebagai studi eksploratif deskriptif awal. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan metode survei terhadap 206 mahasiswa aktif jenjang S1, D3, dan D4 berusia 18–25 tahun yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling, dengan instrumen skala Likert 1–5 yang disebarkan melalui Google Forms. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif melalui persentase jawaban pada setiap indikator, tanpa menyertakan rincian angka per konstruk agar fokus pada pola umum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemudahan akses teknis dan kebiasaan menjadi faktor yang paling menonjol dalam persepsi mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan media sosial, melampaui peran motivasi kesenangan dan pengaruh sosial. Pada aspek FoMO, perilaku penggunaan berulang tampak lebih menonjol dibandingkan kekhawatiran emosional yang dinyatakan secara eksplisit, mengindikasikan bahwa penggunaan media sosial mahasiswa cenderung berlangsung secara otomatis dan berulang. Intensitas penggunaan media sosial pada mahasiswa secara umum tergolong tinggi, memperkuat gambaran bahwa media sosial telah menjadi bagian dominan dari aktivitas digital sehari-hari. Temuan ini bersifat deskriptif dan eksploratif; penelitian tidak dimaksudkan untuk menguji atau menyimpulkan hubungan sebab-akibat antarvariabel, dan pengujian inferensial direkomendasikan bagi penelitian lanjutan.
