EDUKASI KOMUNIKASI EFEKTIF BERBASIS BAHASA SANTUN DALAM FORUM PUBLIK BAGI SISWA SMK 18 AL-YASIR KOTA BENGKULU

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan komunikasi efektif berbasis bahasa santun dalam forum publik bagi siswa SMK 18 Al-Yasir Kota Bengkulu, khususnya siswa bidang kesehatan, agar mampu berkomunikasi secara jelas, santun, empatik, dan profesional. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan edukatif partisipatif melalui penyampaian materi, diskusi interaktif, praktik komunikasi publik, simulasi komunikasi dalam konteks layanan kesehatan, pendampingan, dan pemberian umpan balik kepada 30 siswa kelas XI. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa siswa memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik mengenai prinsip komunikasi efektif, mampu membedakan penggunaan bahasa formal, semi-formal, dan informal sesuai konteks, serta menunjukkan peningkatan keberanian berbicara di depan umum. Selain itu, siswa mampu menyampaikan gagasan secara lebih runtut, menggunakan diksi yang lebih santun, menunjukkan sikap yang lebih percaya diri, serta menerapkan komunikasi yang lebih empatik dalam simulasi layanan kesehatan. Simpulan kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa edukasi komunikasi efektif berbasis bahasa santun efektif dalam memperkuat keterampilan komunikasi, etika berbahasa, karakter, dan kesiapan profesional siswa SMK bidang kesehatan sehingga dapat mendukung kesiapan mereka dalam lingkungan pendidikan, praktik kerja lapangan, maupun dunia kerja.
