Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of peer influence, pocket money, financial technology, and self-control on the saving behavior of Generation Z students at Universitas Pamulang, Serang Campus. A quantitative survey was conducted involving 425 students selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0. The findings reveal that pocket money, financial technology, and self-control have positive and significant effects on saving behavior. In contrast, peer influence has a positive but insignificant effect, indicating that social influences do not directly determine students’ saving behavior in this research context. The research model explains 61.8% of the variance in saving behavior, while the remaining variance is attributable to factors outside the model. These findings highlight the importance of financial resources, access to financial technology, and individual self-regulation in supporting saving behavior among Generation Z students. From a managerial perspective, universities and financial institutions should strengthen financial literacy programs, promote the responsible use of digital financial services, and develop practical initiatives that help students manage their allowances, control consumption, and establish consistent saving habits
