Usaha kecil adalah suatu usaha kecil yang tidak memerlukan modal besar tetapi harus menghasilkan produk dengan kualitas terbaik dan pengelolaan yang baik. Penggunaan sistem informasi manajemen dapat mengoptimalkan kinerja karyawan dengan menggunakan balance score card dan untuk lokasi produksi dengan menggunakan six sigma. Balanced Scorecard adalah sistem manajemen, dan bukan sistem pengukuran. Kinerjanya dipantau melalui pengelolaan sistem informasi yang dikoordinasikan dengan perangkat lunak aplikasi. Masalah utama yang teridentifikasi dalam bisnis saat ini adalah banyak perusahaan yang cenderung mengelola bisnisnya hanya berdasarkan ukuran finansial. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dengan menerapkan metode Six Sigma dapat menurunkan nilai DPMO.
