PERSEPSI STIGMA KESEHATAN REPRODUKSI SEBAGAI FAKTOR PENGHAMBAT KEPATUHAN SKRINING KANKER SERVIKS

Abstract

Kanker serviks merupakan salah satu penyebab utama kematian akibat kanker pada perempuan, terutama di negara berkembang. Deteksi dini melalui pemeriksaan Pap smear terbukti efektif dalam menurunkan morbiditas dan mortalitas. Namun, tingkat kepatuhan terhadap skrining kanker serviks masih rendah, salah satunya disebabkan oleh stigma yang melekat pada isu kesehatan reproduksi. Stigma ini sering kali berakar pada norma budaya dan persepsi moral yang mengaitkan pemeriksaan organ reproduksi dengan perilaku seksual yang menyimpang. Perempuan yang mempertimbangkan menjalani Pap smear kerap menghadapi hambatan psikososial berupa rasa malu, takut dikucilkan, serta kekhawatiran akan penilaian negatif dari lingkungan sosial. Faktor ini diperkuat oleh rendahnya literasi kesehatan, kurangnya edukasi dari tenaga kesehatan, serta keterbatasan layanan yang ramah gender. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi hubungan antara stigma kesehatan reproduksi dan kepatuhan terhadap skrining kanker serviks, serta menganalisis implikasi sosial dan struktural yang memengaruhi partisipasi perempuan dalam deteksi dini. Pemahaman terhadap dinamika stigma ini penting untuk merancang intervensi berbasis komunitas, meningkatkan literasi kesehatan, dan memperkuat sistem layanan kesehatan yang responsif terhadap hak reproduksi. Dengan demikian, upaya eliminasi kanker serviks dapat dilakukan secara lebih efektif dan inklusif
