KURMA AJWA SEBAGAI TERAPI HIPERTENSI: TINJAUAN ILMIAH

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi potensi kurma Ajwa (Phoenix dactylifera L. var. Ajwa) sebagai terapi alami dalam pengelolaan hipertensi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur sistematis dengan menelaah artikel-artikel ilmiah yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2010 hingga 2024 dari berbagai database seperti PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, dan ResearchGate. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kurma Ajwa memiliki efek antihipertensi yang signifikan, baik dalam studi hewan maupun pada uji klinis awal pada manusia. Efek ini terutama berkaitan dengan kandungan kalium, antioksidan, flavonoid, dan senyawa fenolik yang bekerja melalui mekanisme vasodilatasi, pengurangan stres oksidatif, dan perbaikan fungsi endotel. Meskipun hasilnya menjanjikan, sebagian besar studi masih terbatas dalam cakupan dan metode. Simpulan, bahwa kurma Ajwa berpotensi besar sebagai terapi pelengkap dalam pengelolaan hipertensi, namun diperlukan penelitian lebih lanjut dengan metodologi yang lebih kuat dan populasi yang lebih luas untuk mendukung pemanfaatannya secara klinis.
